Summer Kickoff featuring Christian Musician, PJ Anderson --June 7th! Quick! Mark your calendars now for some summer fun! There will be music, snacks, and a special send-off blessing for our youth missionaries heading off to Catholic Heart Workcamp & Love Begins Here in mosquito-free St. Patrick Hall (church basement)! All are welcome---this is open to everyone!
Here's a little bit of information about PJ!
PJ learned to play guitar from a nun, Sister Charita in 5th grade. He landed a role in the high school musical, Grease and started a band in college that opened up doors to writing his own songs. After college, he was a Youth Minister and played in worship bands until he made the move from Chicago to Nashville. PJ now travels the country inspiring youth, playing concerts, leading worship at conferences and retreats and encouraging youth through his prayerful form of worship. Most notably, PJ has led music at Mega Workshops at the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) in, as well as, leading worship at Catholic Heart Work Camp (CHWC) for a number of years. He has headlined the Youth Rally and Mass For Life at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC for 30,000 youth. PJ also played at World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland, where 3 million Catholic and Christian youth joined with Pope Francis to grow in faith.
2018-2019 Faith Formation Registration Forms Has your family returned their Faith Formation registration form? If not, you will be receiving a separate email letting you know that we haven't received your family's form yet. If you do not hear from us, then we have your form. Forms were due on April 29th, but we realize that the end of the school year is crazy, and you may have forgotten to turn the form in...or maybe it's still in your child's Faith Formation bag. :) Whatever the case may be, we have extended the deadline to June 15th. After June 15th, a late fee will be applied, and you will see this on the invoice you will receive on the first night of classes in September.
Faith Formation Textbooks
All textbooks should have been returned by the last class night. We will be going through and checking to make sure that books were returned very soon. All of our catechists recorded the number of the book your child had. So if you happen to find a book at home or in your child's Faith Formation bag, please return it to the parish office. The replacement fee for a missing book is $12.
Faith Formation Class Day/Time for 2018-19
Grades
1-7 will meet on
Wednesday evenings.
Grades
8-12 will meet on
Sunday evenings.
As we are reviewing changes in the Diocesan requirements for Sacraments, it is likely that there will be sessions specifically for 2nd graders and parents on a few Saturdays and/or additional Wednesdays and sacramental preparation for Confirmandi and parents on several Wednesday nights. Please take this into consideration when scheduling activities for next year. Attendance for sacramental preparation is required.
Come Check Out Catholic Heart Workcamp! Do you have a child who may be interested in participating in the Catholic Heart Workcamp mission trip in the future? If so, here is your chance to see what CHWC is all about! We have 3 teens from St. Patrick who will be going to CHWC Milwaukee June 10th-15th! We will be staying at Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha. Next year we plan on going further away, so this is a perfect opportunity to check out CHWC while it is close! Come join us for the Thursday evening program on June 14th and get a glimpse of what your teen will experience! For more details, please contact Stephanie!
Be a Part of the St. Patrick Parade Float and Brat Stand! St. Patrick is inviting all kids/teens to be a part of our float in the Cottage Grove Fireman's Festival Parade on Saturday, June 16. The parade lines up at Cottage Grove School and begins at 11:30. We will meet at St. Patrick parking lot and walk to Cottage Grove School at 11:15. The younger kids will ride on a trailer and the older kids/teens will walk. If you have a St. Patrick t-shirt, please wear it! If you've outgrown your t-shirts, please bring them along to share with others.
Before, during and after the parade we will be running a brat stand in the church parking lot to raise funds for youth activities. All of the planning and prep will be covered, but we are in need of families to help set-up, run and take down the stand. Please contact Kristia with any questions about the float or brat stand.

Attention Moms! Women and friends of the parish are invited to join a new women's six week bible study entitled
Opening Your Heart. This bible study will challenge us to confront our fears and guide us to a deeper relationship with Jesus. We will explore these questions: How can I conquer my fears? What are the limits of Christ's forgiveness? Why and how should I pray? What is the role of suffering in my life?
We will meet on Wednesday from 7:30-9:00 pm in the Parish Center (June 20 & 27, July 11, 18 & 25 and August 1).
Cost of the book is $20. Contact Terri Erickson at
