The evening started off with basketball, ping-pong and snacks. We then went into St. Patrick Church where Fr. Brian explained some of the history of the rosary- October is the Month of the Holy Rosary. Students, Fr. Brian and catechist all prayed one decade of the rosary together before heading to the classrooms. See the end of this update for service hour opportunities.
Grade 8 Chosen Lesson 3- "What's Your Story, God?" (A Look at Salvation History) Student Homework: Read in Chosen pages 20-24. Don't forget to do the Challenge of the Week that you picked out! Make a cheerful sacrifice, create or find symbols of the Holy Trinity, or choose a saint to research (see pg. 21)- write about your challenge. Parent Homework: Read Chosen Parent's Guide pages 34 & 35. Try out the conversation starters with your teen!

Chosen Lesson 5- "Who is Jesus" (The Person and Mission of Christ) Discussed "What is a martyr?" St. John is the only apostle that didn't die a martyr. Jesus came to pay our debt (forgive our sins), to show us how much God loves us (John 3:16), to show us how to live and to give us Divine Life. Student Homework: Read Chosen pages 30-34 and 40-44 Don't forget to do the Challenges of the Week (see pages 31 and 41) Parent Homework: Read Chosen Parent's Guide pages 36-39.
