The Mission of Encounter School of Ministry Drawing from the richness of our Catholic heritage and identity, we seek to teach, equip, activate and deploy disciples to be able to demonstrate the supernatural power and love of the kingdom of God in their spheres of influence.
The school was founded and is directed by Patrick Reis and Father Mathias Thelen, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Brighton, MI (former Spiritual Director of Sacred Heart Seminary). The theological curriculum advisor is Dr. Mary Healy, Professor of Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and a member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission. The school is committed to teaching from a Catholic, biblical perspective.
The school meets once a week during the traditional school year, covering 8 quarters over a two-year period. The theme for each quarter is as follows:
Q1 – Identity and Transformation Q2 – Hearing God and the Prophetic Gifts Q3 – Power and Healing Q4 – Inner Healing and Freedom Q5 – Evangelization Q6 – Intimacy with God Q7 – Advanced Ministry Training Q8 – Leadership and Deployment
Each class includes time to worship together, a teaching, and practical experience in the content covered.
