Spaghetti Supper & Help Needed
The Spaghetti Dinner is this Friday, February 9th! All of the proceeds support our Faith Formation Program! We are still in great need of desserts and help for the dinner, but could still use some more jars of spaghetti sauce--meatless please. 7th and 8th graders can raise money to offset the cost of their Party Bus which will happen in April and Confirmation students can earn service hours! They can arrive at early as 4:00 and stay as long as they can to help with clean-up. Please check out our online sign-up here. We hope you can come and support our fundraiser! See all of the details on our Facebook page here.
Shamrock Spree
Come and enjoy a night of fun on the feast day of our patron saint- St. Patrick! This event is for all parishioners and is one of our only fundraisers. There will be a corned beef dinner (with roasted turkey and children's options), silent auction, raffle, and 50/50 raffle. Following dinner is a euchre tournament and the always fun Bingo run by the Confirmation students- both activities have some pretty nice prizes!
If you are interested in donating items for the silent auction and/or game prizes, please drop off in the parish office or in the back sacristy at weekend Masses by March 1st. Dinner and raffle tickets will be available for purchase after all Mass or in parish office beginning February 3. Hope to see you at the Shamrock Spree on Saturday, March 17 following 5:00 Mass! See bulletin for more details http://www.st-patrick-
Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday is February 14th. We will be attending Mass. Children can sit with their families. Mass begins at 6:00. Please allow enough time to park and get settled before Mass begins. Children will leave with families after Mass.
Rice Bowl
Our fourth graders visited all of the classrooms to talk about Lent and Catholic Relief Services' Rice Bowl project. All of our students should have brought a rice bowl home. Rice bowls can also be picked up starting next weekend at church. Click here to see some pictures of our 4th graders talking to the students.
Date Night is Coming to St. Patrick!
You are invited to an evening of fun and romance designed for married couples to celebrate their relationship by reminiscing about the early stages of their romance. Couples are served a full course romantic candlelit dinner for two. In between courses, your host and hostess will lead you on your personal journey down memory lane. The Madison Community of Worldwide Marriage Encounter wishes to give this as a gift to support your marriage. There is no cost, however, donations are welcome. The dinner will be held on Saturday. March 3rd. Appetizers are at 6:00 pm followed by dinner at 6:30 pm. Childcare will be available. Space is limited. Please reserve your spot by contacting Amy and Jim Wollangk at 608-215-5197 or [email protected].
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Peter Jarmusz, one of our 2nd graders! His poster for the Knights of Columbus Christmas Poster Contest was selected as a diocesan winner! It will now be sent to the state contest! You can check out the pictures from Peter receiving his medal at class on our facebook page here.
Adult Faith Formation Opportunity
Join our catechists on Saturday, February 10th for a presentation on the Creed.
We recite the Nicene Creed every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation, but how aware are we of the beliefs we are professing? Unpacking the articles of the Creed, using both the tools of faith and reason, we discover the compelling truths we are privileged to have received from Christ and His Church. The Creed summarizes the most fundamental truths of our faith, aiding in our own catechetical development, and providing the means to pass the Faith along to those we teach. Paul Matenaer, from the Diocese of Madison, will be for this presentation. It will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, February 10th in St. Patrick's Hall, and is open to all parishioners. If you would like to attend, please contact Stephanie or Kristia.
Save the Date!
Mark your calendars for July 23rd-27th! We are excited to announce that we will be offering a Totally Catholic Vacation Bible School for children 4 years old through 6th grade this summer! Set Sail with the Holy Trinity featuring St. Patrick VBS will be from 9 am to noon at St. Patrick. More information and registration forms will be available soon!
